Tutorial: Sync Your Korg Volca with External MIDI Clock

0

The source of midi clock data on any Korg Volca module may be set to either Auto or Internal. The auto setting uses external midi clock data if present and otherwise defaults to the internal setting. The internal setting disregards any external midi clock data coming through the Volca’s MIDI in.

  1. Start with your choice of Korg Volca module switched off.
  2. Press and hold the FUNC button. Whilst held, switch on the unit.
  3. The LED screen should display GLob and the Play and Record buttons will flash periodically.
  4. Press the Step 6 key. This toggles the MIDI clock source setting between CL.At (Auto, LED lit up) and CL.In (Internal, LED unlit).
  5. Press the Record button to save the settings, or press the Play button to cancel the changes.
  6. The Volca unit will then restart.
  7. You may now use any external interface or MIDI device to send MIDI clock data to the Volca’s MIDI in.
